Entering a new tattoo studio for the very first time can be daunting and intimidating. Long-standing (and sometimes valid) perceptions of tattoo studios as places that are not welcoming to all, still persist in the perceptions of many. We are deeply aware that first-time tattoo clients can, at times, be concerned that they might find themselves feeling uncomfortable or out of place in a tattoo studio. So at Dr Morse, we make maximum effort to make it clear that in our studio, our aim is to create a welcoming, safe, friendly and inclusive space for all. To help us do this, we consciously promote a culture of judgement-free positivity and open-mindedness amongst our crew and clients.
We pride ourselves on our warm and welcoming attitude to everyone who comes through our doors, regardless of age, gender, neurodiversity, ability, sexuality, ethnicity, religion or class. In a typical day in our studio, people from all walks of life are represented, and fully respected. We are proud to have a range of artists who themselves are neurodiverse, queer, of different ethnicities, genders, and age groups. Dr Morse is a female dominated studio, whose artists range from being apprentices in the industry, to having twenty-plus years experience as tattoo artists. We are stoked to have the kind of diversity we hope to welcome in our clients, reflected in our staff.
Tattoos are an incredible means of self-expression. They can represent people’s interests, passions, loves, lives and experiences. They can honour memories of people, places and events past and present, and are often a way to help us heal and feel good about ourselves. At Dr Morse, we know that creating a safe space in which tattoos can happen, is of paramount importance. We know that the experience of feeling understood, supported and welcome is a fundamental part of the process of creating special, affirming and meaningful pieces, that can be admired and enjoyed for years to come. We’d love to see you in our studio soon!
